HI-PAC
(Hygienists of Indiana-Political Action
Committee)
What
is HI-PAC?
Its purpose is to encourage dental hygienists
and other interested persons to inform legislators of current
dental hygiene issues. HI-PAC is a voluntary, non-profit
committee, which supports the goals of IDHA, but operates
independently and autonomously. HI-PAC is not affiliated with
any one political party but supports individual candidates who
have demonstrated an interest in excellence in dental hygiene.
HI-PAC provides support to those candidates and works to
encourage other candidates to hear the voice of the dental
hygiene profession.
What does HI-PAC do?
Decision making
Legislation and government regulations are
affecting the scope and future of the practice of dental
hygiene. Important decisions are made concerning health care
delivery and dental hygiene practice. We must be an active
part of that process.
Voting Isn’t Enough...Lobbying Isn’t Enough
The synergy of hundreds of dental hygienists working
together is what it takes for our collective voice to be
heard when public officials are debating the future of
dental hygiene.
Provides Information
Information about current legislative issues
may be obtained from your component Trustee. HI-PAC will
equip you with the knowledge necessary to make decisions
that will count- for your patients, your profession, and
you.
Remains Active
We will encourage members to vote for the
candidates who support dental hygiene issues as well as
donate money to those candidate’s campaigns.
How Do I Fit In?
As dental hygienists, it is our responsibility
to educate legislators of the dental hygiene standard of care.
We need to defend the profession we have chosen and try to
enhance it by expanding our scope of practice. You can help by
becoming a member of HI-PAC and supporting our legislative
efforts. Below you will find a response form to be a member.
Please detach it and send it to the address above. We want you
to help shape the future of dental hygiene.
