2010-2011 MEETING SCHEDULE

September 8 - Meeting to be held at the Allen Co. Public Library, Fort Wayne. Speaker: Dr. Timothy J. Frey, President of IKDDS and OMSA Oral Surgeon: "Oral Cancer Awareness." Presentation will include oral cancer screening techniques and practice. 2 CEUs

October 13 - Meeting to be held at North Pointe Woods Club House, Fort Wayne. CE Topic: "Legislative Updates" and celebrating National Dental Hygiene Month with IPFW dental hygiene students. 1 CEU

January 12 - Meeting to be held at the Allen Co. Public Library, Fort Wayne. CE Topic: "Orthodontics Update."

February 9 - Meeting to be held at Lone Star Steak House, Fort Wayne. Speaker: Claire Alexander, J&J Dental Products. Exact topic TBA.

March 16 - Meeting to be held at the Allen Co. Public Library, Fort Wayne. Speakers: Sharon Martin and Leanne Agostini. Topic: "Understanding Reiki."

April 13 - Meeting to be held at IPFW Liberal Arts Bldg, room 159. Speakers: IPFW Second Year Dental Hygiene Students. Topic: "Community Outreach Presentations."

At the monthly meeting of the Isaac Knapp Dental Hygienists' Association, these IPFW students enthusiastically presented: "Town Hall Meeting for Health Care Reform: Dental Implications" .



ACTIVITIES

September 18 - Nelson's Chicken Sale Fundraiser held at Scott's Grocery Parking Lot, NE Fort Wayne.

October 2 - "Back To School" Continuing Education course held at IPFW. 7 CEUs offered for this hands-on, round robin style CE course.

February 19 - "Ethics & Indiana Dental Law" and "Oral Pathology Update" Continuing Education course held at IPFW.

 


Theme for the year:
"Join Us!" "Bring A Friend" campaign.


Developing an IKDHA website for announcements, meeting schedules, CE courses, IDHA and ADHA links. Contacting new IPFW dental hygiene graduates to remind them about converting membership to ADHA. Sending IKDHA meeting information to new graduates, members, and non-members. Mailing and e-mailing CE brochures, as well as posting them on IKDHA and IDHA websites. Reducing the cost of each meeting by offering light refreshments instead of meals.
