CENTRAL (01)

Vice Chair: Hali Householder

I have loved practicing dental hygiene since 2012! Prior to earning my degree in dental hygiene from Savannah, GA, I received my Dental Assisting Degree in 2009 from Orange Coast College in southern California. In 2014, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health Sciences from IUPUI. My passion for dentistry has taken me to Belize, Central America with Project Smile, an international dental volunteer organization. I have also observed dentistry in Istanbul, Turkey. While my focus in dentistry has always been dental hygiene, I have worked as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant, Orthodontic Assistant, and Front Office Personnel.

I currently live in Greenwood with my husband, Luke, our daughters, Harlow and Hazel, and our goldendoodle, Bruno! When I am not focusing on the evolving world of dentistry, I enjoy traveling to the beach, going to the lake, spending time with friends and family, and attending community events. I practice dental hygiene on the southside of Indianapolis with the goal of providing the absolute best care to my patients. Each year, my passion for dentistry has taken me further into my career field. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

OHIO VALLEY (02)

Chair: Jennifer Fehrenbacher
Contact: jennfehrenbacher@gmail.com

I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana (USI) Dental Assisting Program in 2003 and the Dental Hygiene Program in 2005. I have worked in a variety of roles in local dental offices and currently serve as an Assistant Professor of Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene at USI. I love to learn and feel I get the best of both worlds with my current job because I get to work with patients and also help to guide students. I have enjoyed getting to serve as an Alternate Delegate for the IDHA during the 2021-2022 term and also for the 2022-2023 term. I currently hold the role of chair for the Ohio Valley Component and have had the opportunity to serve as a peer reviewer for the Dimensions of Dental Hygiene journal with my third article being published this year. I appreciate the opportunities that this profession has given me through the years!

ISAAC KNAPP (03)

I graduated from IUFW in 2016 with my Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene. I have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 13 wonderful years. We have 5 children together, 3 boys and 2 girls. We also have 3 dogs and an Iguana! In hygiene I love treating all patients but I find the "hard" patients the most exciting. I love seeing the Hygiene profession continue to progress and am always eager to learn new skills. My passion to facilitate a better customer experience for special needs patients began five years ago. This was due to our youngest son suffering a brain injury which led to global delayment, low vision, cerebral palsy, Level 3 Autism, and being non-verbal. I have developed some simple solutions for offices I have worked for but my ultimate goal would be to change the hygiene and dental curriculum to include special needs care in the dental office. I am currently attending the Ohio State University dental hygiene graduate program to obtain my Masters. I hope to bring more awareness to special needs patients, so clinicians feel more comfortable treating patients that may be seen as "difficult" and create a world where special needs individuals have a place to fit in.
